Providence Center Awarded "Ticket to Work" Contract

PROVIDENCE, RI (September 27, 2010)—The Providence Center has been awarded a contract by the United States Social Security Administration to be an Employment Network. As a Ticket to Work Employment Network, The Providence Center assists people with behavioral health disabilities to reach employment milestones and achieve independence.

In Ticket to Work, clients work with an employment specialist at The Providence Center to define short-term and long-term individual employment goals. The employment specialist works with the clients to achieve short-term goals such as creating an employment plan, developing a resume, and gaining job, computer and financial skills. In the long-term, the participants find employment and continue to receive support from the employment specialist through regular meeting.
