Michael Tousignant of KLR Honored by The Providence Center as Philanthropic Leader

November 22, 2010 (Providence, RI) The Providence Center is pleased to announce Michael Tousignant, shareholder and director of assurance services at Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co., Ltd (KLR) , as this year’s “Partner in Philanthropy.” The Providence Center chose Tousignant as this year’s National Philanthropy Day honoree for his outstanding philanthropic support and fundraising leadership.
“Mike is an inspiring community leader who has supported The Providence Center for many years.” says Dale K. Klatzker, PhD, The Providence Center President/CEO. “The Providence Center is grateful to Tousignant for his commitment to our organization and the people we serve.”
At a ceremony sponsored by the Rhode Island chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Tousignant will be honored along with other RI leaders as part of National Philanthropy Day. Philanthropy Day recognizes the significant impact philanthropy has on society and provides nonprofits worldwide the opportunity to honor philanthropists who have had an impact on their organizations.
Tousignant considers giving back a privilege and a part of both his upbringing and the KLR culture. “Like many of the not for profit organizations we work with, The Providence Center is the unsung hero. This amazing organization serves some of the most vulnerable people in our society with professionalism and excellent business acumen. I am humbled and honored to receive this recognition, but in reality, it should be presented to the dedicated staff at The Providence Center who work so hard every day changing and saving the lives of so many people.”
