Rhode Island Holds 9th Annual "Rally 4 Recovery"
Recovery Month, celebrated annually in September, spreads the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, that prevention works, that treatment is effective and that people can and do recover from mental health and substance abuse problems.
Rhode Island's 9th Annual Rally 4 Recovery was held on September 10, 2011, at Roger Williams National Memorial Park in Providence, RI.
Rally 4 Recovery brought the recovery community together—individuals in recovery from substance use issues, the mental health and developmental disabilities communities, behavioral health treatment providers, family members, friends and advocates of recovery, and partners in government—to celebrate the commitment we all share to the recovery movement. The Rally was a fun-filled day featuring free food, arts and crafts, live music and more!
The Providence Center, represented by Jim Gillen, clinical coordinator of recovery services, is a national planning partner for Recovery Month events.
